The event will take place on Thursday, June 27, 2024, from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the Pennsylvania Avenue Resource Center, located at 425 Pennsylvania Ave. in Savannah, Georgia.
Homesteaders Bobby and Sherrie Black are high-profile TikTok, Instagram and YouTube influencers dedicated to “keeping your food fresh, ditching the junk from store-bought goods and living a healthier, more eco-friendly life.” The Blacks share their adventures in planting, farming, harvesting and cooking on their popular social media channels and seek to inspire their followers, known as “soilbrothas” and “soilsistas,” to live a healthier lifestyle.
In this engaging, practical class, Sherrie Black will guide participants through the process of making bread using basic ingredients. Attendees will learn to knead dough by hand and discover valuable tips for baking homemade bread without preservatives or additives.
As the bread bakes, participants will prepare tasty accompaniments and learn to make homemade mayonnaise. At the end of the session, everyone will have the chance to savor fresh tomato sandwiches, a summer favorite, along with chickpea “tuna” sandwiches.
The Forsyth Farmers’ Market offers a free bread-making class open to everyone. Due to limited space, you must sign up in advance. When registering, please inform us of any food allergies you may have.
To register, please contact Forsyth Farmers’ Market Director of Community Building Aja Embry at aja@ffm-sav.org or call 912.509.0894.
