Savannah Area Schools to remain closed Monday following Hurricane Helene

Some school systems in our area will remain closed Monday following the aftermath of Hurricane Helene.

Below is a list of closures (so far):

  • Appling County Schools will be closed until further notice.
  • Bacon County Schools will be closed until further notice.
  • Bryan County Schools will be closed Monday and Tuesday.
  • Bulloch County Schools will be closed Monday and Tuesday.
  • Candler County Schools will be closed Monday and Tuesday.
  • Effingham County Schools will be closed Monday.
  • Evans County Charter School System will be closed Monday through Thursday.
  • Glynn County Schools will be closed Monday.
  • Liberty County Schools will be closed Monday.
  • Georgia Southern University will be closed Monday and Tuesday.
  • Glynn County Schools will be closed Monday.
  • Savannah Technical College will be closed Monday and Tuesday. The college plans to open the Eckburg Auditorium for the public to use AC, power, and Wi-fi from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday.
  • The Children’s Village will be closed Monday.
  • Toombs County Schools will be closed Monday through Wednesday.
