Savannah, Georgia’s oldest city, is a symbol of Southern hospitality. There are many romantic activities to enjoy, including strolling along tree-lined streets and sipping mint juleps. You can pack for a Savannah bed-and-breakfast stay and enjoy the most romantic weekend of your life, whether you’re looking to stroll along tree-lined streets or watch the Tybee Island waves.
Enjoy a carriage ride
You’ll feel like your beloved is in a film when you take a private carriage along the streets at night. Madison Tour Company will pick you up after a romantic dinner to take you along cobblestone streets and show you some of the city’s most historical mansions.
Enjoy a glass of wine at the Olde Pink House
The Olde Pink House is a historic restaurant that’s perfect for a romantic cocktail. You can relax on a sofa and listen to live piano music. Enjoy a starter of fried green tomatoes while sipping one of the custom cocktails at the restaurant.
Picnic in Forsyth Park
The 30-acre park, which is located in the heart of the city, is one of the most popular spots. This 19th-century cast-iron fountain is a replica of the Paris fountain and is absolutely stunning. Couples love to take picnics to the park and then spend lazy afternoons lying on blankets under the shade of trees. There’s also a farmer’s market on Saturdays.
Go on a haunted tour
Although it might not seem romantic, haunted tours offer the perfect opportunity for couples to get close. The city is not officially titled “America’s Most Haunted City”, but its long and rich history means that there are many haunting sights to be seen after dark.
Stroll through Chippewa Square
Chippewa Square makes a great place for a romantic stroll with your partner. You can enjoy a romantic stroll in the park with your sweetheart on the oak-lined paths and benches made-for-two. Chippewa Square’s north side is also a key location in Forrest Gump.
Get a couples massage
Several local spas offer couples massages after a day spent exploring the city. Locals love to gift it as a romantic Valentine’s Day gift.
Get married in the Davenport House Garden
Not married yet? That’s okay because you can bring that special someone over to the beautiful Davenport House Garden and tie the knot. A local judge will be there to officiate and ceremonies will be offered every 10 minutes. It’s a good idea to confirm reservations because this event tends to sell out. And to thank the Davenport House, there’s a $100 donation to the museum. The Davenport House is located at 324 E. State Street.
Valentine’s Day Dinner Cruise on Savannah Riverboat Cruises
What better way to spend Valentine’s Day in Savannah than on the famous Savannah River? Every year the Savannah Riverboat Cruises invite couples to do a little something special for Valentine’s Day and go on a dinner cruise down the Savannah River. This 2-hour cruise includes a premium 4-course plated dinner, live entertainment, a bottle of house wine or champagne, and dancing. Advanced reservations are required.
