Savannah/Hilton Head International sponsors the Bring One for the Chipper tree recycling event from Dec. 26 to Jan. 7, where residents can recycle their Christmas trees. The program, started by the Keep Georgia Beautiful Foundation in 1991, has recycled over 6 million trees for eco-friendly projects. Trees brought to the airport will be used for beautification, soil erosion prevention, and water retention efforts. Residents are asked to remove all decorations before drop-off and are encouraged to recycle leftover holiday wrapping paper and boxes.
